So Amazing

2002
Boyce, Sonia
Sonia Boyce first came to prominence in the mid-1980s with a series of bold pastel drawings about her experience of growing up as an Afro-Caribbean woman in east London. She has since gone on to work in a variety of media, including video, performance and installation, often dealing with issues about urban life in Britain. 'So Amazing' is taken from the title of a Luther Vandross song, and was commissioned as a print for 'Make it Happen in Art', 2001-2002, the Hayward Gallery/Department of Health programme for young people in social care.
