Still Life

1961
Rogers, Claude
A founder member of the Euston Road School of painting, Claude Rogers' aim was always to represent precisely what he saw. Rather than searching out his subjects, he painted objects and events from everyday life which appealed to him because of their shape and colour. As he explained: 'I like each painting to be a statement of clear shapes, forms that offer resistance to the eye.'
