Art UK work with the UK’s public art collections to showcase artworks to the world. They put art online for enjoyment, learning and research.
As an Art UK Partner, we committed our support to the organisation early in 2015, when the project was still in development. We were one of the first 200 collections to join Art UK and works from the Arts Council Collection help make up the core body of UK art collections in the project.

Our partnership with Art UK currently involves two projects:
Works from the Arts Council Collection are continuing to be documented by the Art UK team as part of their second major digitisation programme which will put around 170,000 sculptures online. This followed our involvement with its internationally acclaimed oil paintings project which has made over 200,000 publicly owned oil paintings from some 3,000 British collections freely available online.
Secondly, we are partnering with Art UK on the next phase of the Masterpieces in Schools project - a project that will take 125 great, publicly-owned sculptures into primary and secondary schools around the country for a day of hands-on art history.
