CLEANLINESS IS NEXT TO GODLINESS

1965
Hockney, David
Hockney used photographic and hand-cut stencils to create this image. The boy's picture is from the American 'beefcake' magazine 'Physique Pictorial', giving irony to the print's title. The pool of 'water' is sampled 'water' from a print by fellow artist Harold Cohen.
