Early Morning on the Acropolis. Athens (South View with Parthenon and Erectheum)

1979
Potts, Ian
A sabbatical from his lecturing post at Brighton Polytechnic in 1979, provided Ian Potts with the opportunity to travel to Italy and Greece and to produce a series of paintings of the Carrara quarries in Italy and the Acropolis in Athens. Potts was drawn to the contrasts of light in the Mediterranean and chose a medium he felt would directly capture the dramatic effects of light and dark. Ann Jones
